Challenge

The Problem:

  • High Maintenance: The end user faced a challenge of frequent high maintenance needs and unreliable performance with their past products due to its outdoor application which exposes them to harsh environmental conditions such as dust, water, humidity, and extreme temperatures up to 55 deg c on a hot day.
  • Difficulty Viewing/Reading: Regular Display/Monitors available were exposed to Direct & varying intensities of sunlight throughout the day which makes it difficult to read at a fixed brightness level as the end users (transport operators) are not supposed to alter the device settings manually.
  • Inconvenient to use/Poor User Experience: Conventional Displays/Monitors (non-touch) needs another device i.e. a rugged keyboard to allow interaction and input information which is not convenient from application setup & user experience point of view.
  • Longevity & Reliability: The end user company was using an Old Legacy solution which needed replacement with new upgraded Displays/Monitors at their sites while retaining all features and mounting compatibility with their customised Panel cut outs. It was hard to find a reliable product supplier who can meet custom needs and support for long term.

  • Rugged Industrial grade NEMA 4X or IP66 compliant sealed Front Bezel to protect from dust & water ingress protection from the exposed front side of the product.
  • Product should be able to operate without any performance or reliability issues in ambient temperature range of at least -10 deg C to 60 deg C as the application was completely outdoor all the time.
  • A High brightness screen that is readable even with sunlight exposure during the day and preferably to automatically adjust the brightness to lower levels as sun goes down and go to minimum during night.
  • A Solution without keyboard to ease the system installation, maintenance, and usage hassles.
    To find a replacement solution that can fit directly with pre-installed Panel cutouts and match their holes & studs.
